Many of the nation�s colleges have become a force for evil and a focal point for the destruction of traditional American values. The threat to our future lies in the fact that today�s college students are tomorrow�s teachers, professors, judges, attorneys, legislators, and policymakers.

A recent Brookings Institution poll suggests that nearly half of college students believe hate speech is not protected by the First Amendment. Of course, it is.

Fifty-one percent of students think that it�s acceptable to shout down a speaker with whom they disagree. About 20 percent of students hold that it�s acceptable to use violence to prevent a speaker from speaking. Over 50 percent say colleges should prohibit speech and viewpoints that might offend certain people.

Contempt for the First Amendment and other constitutional guarantees is probably shared by the students� high school teachers, as well as many college professors.

Brainwashing and indoctrination of young people has produced some predictable results, as shown by a recent Gallup poll. For the past 18 years, Gallup has asked adults how proud they are to be Americans. This year, only 47 percent say they are �extremely proud,� well below the peak of 70 percent in 2003. The least proud to be Americans are nonwhites, young adults, and college graduates.

[Editor's Note: Citizens of the USA should be proud...proud of the protections established by the Founders, and Adam Smith's Capitalism that can enable everyone the opportunity to succeed. The precepts expressed in the Constitution are the greatest form of protections against tyranny the world has ever known.

However, there are many instances of failures to live up to the Constitution's mandates, i.e., attempts to enforce laws (regulations) or attempts to interpret the Constitution's meaning in regards to laws that may or may not violate the Constitution. Many times the failures were caused by misunderstandings or ignorance of laws. Other events have shown that political manipulations of vague regulations were at fault.

Essentially, if ignorance, irrational/inappropriate demands, or politics prevent the proper enforcement of laws, then citizens could become disillusioned and less proud of their country. Two of the worst failures of elected officials in the past were the Vietnam War and the Iraq War. In fact, any war without factual, evidentiary provocation (unprovoked attack or knowledge of imminent attack) is almost equivalent to imperialism, no matter how noble the motivation. The political use of war to generate a patriotic majority of supporters is tantamount to lying to the people.

The other self-evident, contradiction of the Constitution was the history of slavery which ended legally in 1861 (13th Amendment), but some of the attitudinal behaviors associated with slavery have persisted in some ways. This is not to assert that Americans are racist. Surely Americans of today should not feel responsible for the slavery of the 1600s to 1800s. Wrong decisions by government officials in the 1960s through 2016 in an effort to 'help' have created a "dependency class" of citizens who have lived off governemnt largess.

The single most pervasive failure is ignorance of our form of government and the Constitution. Without this knowledge, natural born citizens can't truly behave like citizens and respect laws. America's education has FAILED at all levels beginning in the 1970s. Teachers who have received a college education after 1970 have slowly learned to become whiners and malcontents, dissatisfied with their workaday world. Capitalism has failed them, and their union tells them to be subversive, that Socialism is a better system, that hyper-liberal promises are better than changing their profession and doing something more satisfying. ]

One might be tempted to argue that the growing contempt for liberty and the lack of civility stem from the election of Donald Trump. That�s entirely wrong. The lack of civility and indoctrination of our young people have been going on for decades.

The proudest Americans are those older than 50 and those who did not graduate from college. The latter might be explained by their limited exposure to America�s academic elite.

Johnetta Benton, a teacher at Hampton Middle School near Atlanta, was recorded telling her sixth-grade students, �America has never been great for minorities.� In a tirade, she told her class: �Because Europeans came from Europe � you are an immigrant. You are an illegal immigrant because you came and just took it. � You are an immigrant. This is not your country.�

To exploit young, immature people this way represents an act of supreme cowardice. The teacher should be fired, but I�m guessing that her colleagues share her sympathies. At the same school, students were given a homework assignment that required them to write a letter asking lawmakers for stricter gun control laws.

UCLA history professor Mary Corey told her class: �Capitalism isn�t a lie on purpose. It�s just a lie.� She added that capitalists �are swine. � They�re bastard people.�

An English professor at Montclair State University, in New Jersey, told his students, �Conservatism champions racism, exploitation and imperialist war.�

An ethnic studies professor at California State University, Northridge and Pasadena City College teaches that �the role of students and teachers in ethnic studies is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.�

The University of California, Santa Barbara�s school of education emailed its faculty members to ask them to consider classroom options concerning the Iraq War, suggesting they excuse students from class to attend anti-war events and give them extra credit for writing about it.

Rodney Swanson, a UCLA economics professor, told his class, �The United States of America, backed by facts, is the greediest and most selfish country in the world.�

There is little question that colleges stand at the forefront of an attack on America and Western values.

Leftists often say that the U.S. is the world�s worst country. But here are some empirical facts they might explain. According to a recent Gallup poll, about 13 percent of the world�s adults�630 million people�would like to move to another country. Roughly 138 million would like to live in the U.S.�making us the No. 1 destination, followed by the U.K., Canada, and France.

There�s something exceptionally appealing about America and the Western world that leftists choose to ignore or lie about.

Freedom is a black-or-white, yes-or-no, either/or, zero-sum proposition. There are no gray areas or lukewarmness when it comes to freedom.

But the concept of freedom of the individual, or individual liberty, has been shoved down the memory hole and replaced by a popular mentality of diminishing the individual and independent thinker to a collectivist mind (mentality) which can be esoterically swayed, directed and channeled against his own best interest. The virtue and sanctity of the individual person and ego is no more, and anathema to the state.

What does it all mean? It means that a state of mind is developed and nurtured that freely gives oneself and one�s production to the state. Each individual, in order to be a good citizen of the state, must contribute most of his means and be grateful for the services the state returns — whether they are necessary or useful or not.

The result is that even so-called conservatives have come to not only accept socialism but to embrace it in many forms. Oh, they�ll reject it when it�s called what it is, as conservatives have chimed in to reject and ridicule proposals by self-avowed socialists like Bernie Sanders and the new communist darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. But they readily accept socialism in its many forms, especially when it�s proposed by socialists masquerading as Republicans.

DEBT PERSPECTIVE! Social Security (SS) monies flow into the Feds via paycheck withholding. The Feds buy US Treasuries and the Bond purchase money is deposited into the treasury. Benefit money must therefore be paid out of the Treasury. If there had been a SS brokerage account (instead of the Feds spending it), the monies could have been invested very conservatively to receive a modest 5-8% annual return on investment and the SS "Trust" Fund would be solvent even with retiring baby-boomers. Another mismanagement failure is SS Disability which has been defrauded by mendacious citizen malingerers especially from 2000 to 2016.
